The Faceless Theys of Life

faceless

They say that love is forever. They say that you can make it if you try. They say that if it works, don’t fix it. The question is, who is they? They are the faceless theys of life.

We may never know who first spoke the words above, but they certainly made a lasting impact on the people today.

Faceless theys are not just the people who made these statements. They are everywhere. The man who helps the elderly woman cross the street. The woman who hands a sandwich to the homeless teen. The stranger at the store whose random comment changes your perspective on life. They are the people that are never forgotten. We may not remember their face, but their actions remain with us forever.

The faceless theys of life do not look for recognition or popularity. They do not act to be seen. Their intentions are pure and that is what makes them stand out from the crowd. The fact that they took a moment out of their own life to touch yours is something spectacular.

No doubt that over the years, we also have been faceless theys. There are many times when we help someone on purpose, but there are also times when our actions are even unknown to us. We say just the right the thing at the right time or help someone without really taking notice. We may not realize it, but we have made a lasting impact on that person.

I have read and heard many times where people feel that they are not important. They are wrong. Everyone is important. We may not be known around the world or even in our own backyard. There may not be plaques on our walls or awards on our shelves, but that doesn’t mean that we have not accomplished great things. Many times our greatest achievements in life are unseen to the naked eye, because they are tucked away in someone’s heart.

Although you may feel faceless to the world, remember that it is the faceless theys of life whose actions and words are carried on forever.

Great post! My mom would always say “people”. Like at Christmas when she would make 8 desserts for 8 people. I’d say why kilo yourself and have so many desserts? She’s say “people” need choices. Those people weren’t the same people at Xmas that’s for sure!

  8. A Momma’s View led me here. This is a fantastic post. Everyone has an opportunity to stand out if only for a minute. This is another excellent example of how we need each other to move forward in life.
