8 Hours Later

accident

“I’m going on a trip to the mountains that you’re going to miss out on.” Although he said this to her jokingly, he had no idea how right he was. Eight hours later, not only would she miss out on that trip, she would miss out on everything that her future would have held.

A young woman’s life gone in a moment, from an accident that could have been avoided. A future, that now, she will never see.

As her body is being mended and prepared for its final resting place, others are going about their day as normal. Complaining about petty things like malfunctioning electronics, cold sores, chipped windshields and bad hair days.

Just something to think about…

Yes so many tragedies every day such as this. Awful.

  2. It could happen to any of us, any day, any time. It is impossible to ‘Live this day like it will be your
last’ as none of us would do anything productive. At least she was off to have fun…worse ways to go. And I’m very sorry if this is about someone you loved – nothing anyone can say will make that hurt heal.

Thank you. She will be missed. But you are right that as good as the idea sounds, it would be impossible to live every day in such a way. We can certainly make the most of each day and cherish the time with all those who are around us though. Life is too short to have it any other way.

I get caught up in thoughts like this reading the news most nights….sometimes with things going on in the world, I wonder how anyone is just getting on with things
