It’s easy to say that we can’t do something or that it’s too difficult. That we’re failing or on the path to failure, or that someone else could do it better. We might as well give up and throw in the towel.
But, have we tried? Really tried?
Not everything in life is easy. As a matter of fact most things aren’t, especially if we want them done right. There are times however, when getting to the point of success can be exhausting, and the road begins to look bleak. We feel like we’ve tried everything we can think of, yet nothing seems to work.
So why keep trying? If it’s something that we want to be successful at, then we must. It’s not the time to give up. It’s time to try harder.
When difficulties come and we find ourselves at a loss of what to do next, that’s when we must look outside the box. Not everything is black and white. Not everything can be done ‘by the book’. We must brainstorm and try new ways; not just think about them. We must look in new directions and from a different point of view, and experiment to see what works.
If it’s truly important to us, then we’ll do whatever it takes.
Most importantly we must give it our all, not just half. “Half the effort equals half the results.” If we want success, then we have to work for it. Success doesn’t come on its own.
But, what if we’ve tried everything and it still doesn’t work? Sometimes it won’t, but that doesn’t mean that we’ve failed. Failure only comes when we fail to try. So let’s give it our all and see what happens. Success could be right around the corner.
“Perseverance is the hard work you do after you get tired of doing the hard work you already did.” ~ Newt Gingrich
“Through perseverance many people win success out of what seemed destined to be certain failure.” ~ Benjamin Disraeli
We used to have a saying when we were kids ” If at first you don’t succeed, Try try again.”

The difference between a dream and success is you have to wake up from your dream to make it a success.

There are times I think we learn more from our failures than our successes, certainly failure TEACHES us more. I truly think the only true failure is not getting up and trying one more time. Good post, thanks!!

I completely agree with you. We learn so much from our mistakes and failures. Through them, we also learn to try harder.

We try again because it feels so good when we succeed, Me Who. That’s part of it, I think.

It sure does, Mark.

Great post! It fits well with our shower remodel. 🙂 I think it was Anthony Robbins who said failures are the stepping stones to success. It makes our brain create new solutions. It works for me.

Oh yes, it would definitely fit in that situation. The end result is worth it all though. I like that saying, and he’s right. Success doesn’t come easy, but it sure gets our minds working.

Sometimes I just have to remind myself that I want this, I really do, and it’s worth the sweat, blood and tears! And frequently, it’s worth being outside my comfort zone!

That’s true. It does take a lot of reminders sometimes to help us to get to the finish line. It is worth it, but that road can sure be long at times. “Comfort zone” I love my comfort zone and would stay in it always, if possible, but I’ve realized that many things don’t get accomplished there.
