We find our place in this world. A place where everything flows as planned. A place where we can sit back and relax, knowing that we have everything under control. This is our comfort zone. This is the place where we are content in life.
The problem is, is that we don’t grow there. We become stagnant, never moving, never learning, never improving.
In order to grow, we must step outside of our element. We must challenge ourselves beyond what is familiar. Doing so can be intimidating, but it is something that we must do if we want to reach our full potential.
Take the plunge. Be all that you can be.
We are capable of so much more than we think.

Using LindaGHill’s SoCS prompt, element. Choose one of the four: air/water/earth/fire or use the word “element” however you wish to define it.
Okay, so you wrote about the need to go outside of your element. I wrote about the joy of being in your element. Hmm.

That’s an interesting contrast. Great minds think…opposite. 🙂 I’ll head over to read it in a minute.

I so hope you’re right. I can see this and I can feel it, but I’m still in the middle of this, so I’m just hoping you’re right and there is growth on the horizon!

There is! I believe it. One step at a time. As long as you’re moving forward, you’re not moving backward. 🙂

Sure there is. But it’s limited, because you’ll hit your head on the ceiling of the cave. 🙂

I have a tendency to live on the edge of my ‘comfort zone’. I venture to the other side often but just barely. Once in a great while, I’ll really put myself out there. I have many reasons, or maybe they’re excuses, not to leap out there more often. Chances are it’s about time I worked on eliminating those barriers.
Just to let you know, I subscribed to Linda’s blog because of this post. 😀

I think that circumstances and disappointments over the years can cause a person to become afraid to leap. It can be scary, but sometimes necessary, especially if we want to grow. Maybe just stick one foot over and see what happens. 🙂 That’s great about Linda! I hope you enjoy her posts as much as I do.

I love this post. A comfort zone is a rest area on our way to be the best version of ourselves. It’s so easy to make it our destination. If we want to grow, we have to dare to leave that comfort zone.

Thank you. I like how you worded that; a rest area. For many, it’s easy to get stuck in that rest area, some even making it a permanent residence. If we want to reach our full potential, we must get back on the road.
