Fulfilling The Senses

camping

Can you hear that? It’s the sound of water trickling over the rocks. Tree leaves brushing up against each other in the wind. Water rushing over the stone wall cliff into the stream below. Bushes rustling with movement as a critter passes through. Birds singing among the tops of tree limbs. Chirping insects having conversations in the darkness. The crackling of the fire as it’s sparks fly into the night sky.

Can you see that? The moon is placed far in the distance peeking out from behind a cloud. Stars twinkle high in the sky like the grains of sand in number. Yellow eyes of a mysterious animal peers from behind the slope. Shadows dance across the ground as the trees sway in the wind.

Can you feel that? The light breeze as it flows across your skin. The warmth of the fire as it heats your body. The peace of the night. The calmness that surrounds you. The solitude of the mountain.

Camping. Oh how I miss it.

Stream of Consciousness Saturday: This week I’d like to see what you can do with a question. Ask one in the first sentence or two of your post and then answer it… or not. It’s up to you.

I feel like I’m there just reading your words. It feels like you wrote this with your eyes closed. 🙂
Thanks so much for participating in SoCS – glad you enjoyed it!
Not sure why your pingback doesn’t work. The only thing I can suggest is make sure you copy and paste exactly what I have in the “rules,” and make sure you don’t get any extra spaces in what you copy. I’m wondering if it makes a difference whether you post in ‘text’ mode or in ‘visual’ mode…?

Thank you! That’s exactly what I was going for. Feeling it while writing it.

I deleted the link I had added and copied and pasted what you had on your post. If that doesn’t work, then I have no clue what else to try. All my pingback options are checked, so they should work.

I really don’t have a clue why it doesn’t work. I suppose you could try asking support… or maybe there’s something in the FAQs that will help. Have you always had this problem or is it just my site?
